The Swedish krona, often represented by the abbreviation "SEK" and the symbol "kr", is the official currency of Sweden. It was introduced in 1873 and replaced the riksdaler as part of the Scandinavian Coinage Union, which also included Denmark and Norway. One krona is divided into 100 öre, although the öre coins have not been in circulation since 2010.
